Difference Between Yoga And Meditation

Know Yourself Inside and Outside

It’s no secret that the aged old practice of yoga and meditation has gained mass appeal. Yoga and Meditation practices are not just for health organizations, gurus, and yogis, they are now embraced by Politicians, celebrities, athletes, and even those of us normal people. Even students and children can meditate in their own way for focus and concentration. As life today is surrounded by worries, anxiety, fear, depression, and lifestyle diseases, the human body is biologically endowed with all the necessary infrastructure to help us grow mentally and spiritually.

Physical science and technology can only bring comfort and convenience to your life, it cannot solve your life situations of humanity. The idea of meditation is to withdraw the senses from the outside world to focus on your inner world and through that focus create a singular point of concentration.

Real Meaning of Yoga

The true meaning of yoga is the union of body, mind, and soul. Yoga is much more than yoga asana; this path can also take you on an interior journey to meet your true self. asana refers to the physical postures that help the body prepare for deep meditation. It’s thought that yoga postures were originally meant to be held for longer periods of time in stillness, it should be both comfortable and easy. Asana enables the soul to stabilize the self and the body, which ultimately leads the soul to Absolution. It keeps the body healthy, strong, and in harmony with nature. All human being aspires to peaceful life, but today we suffer because of the illusion of separation between our individual consciousness from universal consciousness.

Humans notice things that move, anything that is still they don’t know including themselves, they know only those parts which are moving. Till they know the pleasure of stillness which is the very core profound of you and the cosmos, till you know that; you really don’t know anything, but within you; you are still when your experience goes beyond these moving parts of the body and the mind and touches the stillness, then you are cosmic in nature and experience life. You have never experienced life because you have not realized the value of life, you don’t know the value of being alive. You are trying to find meaning, but your existence is a meaningless existence.

Know Yourself Inside and Outside

You have gotten identified with the things that you are not, every day you are getting identified by more and more things and you want to stop your mind. If you dis-identify with everything, if you understand “what is you?” and “what is not you?” if you keep a little distance from that, your mind will become still. There is enough energy inside you that can only be experienced in stillness.

Let’s pay a little more attention. you are living worthwhile life which deserves attention. Pay your own attention, enough attention to referring to one-self, everything will be clear. The possibility of knowing is always there, If I do not know & I think I know then, I have destroyed all possibilities. We know everything about God from religion, Epics, saints, and God messenger’s, but we don’t know our own self, What is the nature of my existence?, “Who am I?, Where I have come from?, Where am I going?”.

What you accumulated is yours not you, the whole content of your mind is accumulated, inward and outward (body is outward). It is your belief that you have a body and you have a mind, but you are “the soul” eternal being, point of light (energy) has to be experienced. First, everything which is not you keep aside your body, your roles, your thoughts. Keeping everything aside you are not, what you are will be there. For that, you have to make your mirror(mind) plain, and level out your mirror so that it shows everything the way it is not, some other way now everything is shown what you are identified with, every identity has distorted the mirror of your mind and it shows you things in a completely different way than the way it is.

It’s time we have to pay attention, everything you know is only the way it is projected in your mind, you are seeing everything in the mirror of your mind and the mirror of your mind is wonky. First, you have to fix it and make it stable, so that you see everything the way it is. The plain mirror doesn’t show you everything the way it is, everything is reversed, so you have to flip it over without shattering it into pieces will take much more attention, but the first thing is to level out the mirror; so that it shows you everything the way it is, right now everything is seen depending upon, how you are identified with something. Every identity has distorted the mirror of your mind and it shows you things in a completely different way.

Understanding Levels Of Consciousness

The complex human brain functions at three levels- consciousness, subconsciousness, and unconsciousness. The mind is also capable of thinking of many things at the same time. But the human brain works at different levels, and this creates conflict between the thinking brain and our thought processes. The level of consciousness is a measurement of a person’s responsiveness to stimuli from the environment, greed, anger, violence, and a tendency to cheat others originate in our conscious brain, while the subconscious brain is pure and non-manipulative. When we pray to God consciously, we pray only for our materialistic well-being. But at a deeper subconscious level, our thinking is in tune with others and we know that there is a connection between all humanity. This is the realm of spirituality, in which a person is always connected to God. the path of God involves doing what is spiritually right. after guarding your soul and preventing it from taking wrong actions, the subconscious mind automatically guides the person towards what is morally right. At this point, one is connected to God. Spirituality is for reaching the stage of super consciousness.

Yoga is associated with spirituality through meditation, which simply means to have a union or make connections with God and to have conversations with the divine source of inspiration, God.

Yoga Sutra

First yoga sutra “atha yoga anushasanam”, atha means "now", and that is the fundamental, one of the deepest insights of spiritual practice, to bring us very deeply into the present moment. Atha is the kind of call of action for us to wake up now. It can be a mantra for daily living that moves into our lives, bringing us back to what’s happening now.

Asana itself is fundamentally an asset of building blocks these positions are designed to bring us into the now, they are focusing techniques. When we focus on breath and sensation of the body, those occurring in real-time; they are always happening in the present.

Practice is a space of being in the reality with what’s going on right now in my body, in my mind, in my day, in my life.
